Thank you for shopping with The Tail Department. We want you to love your purchase!
If for any reason you’re not completely satisfied, we gladly accept returns within 30 days of delivery.

Eligibility for Returns

To be eligible for a return:

  • Your item must be in the same condition that you received it — unworn, unused, and with all original tags and packaging.

  • You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase (order number or confirmation email).

Please note:

  • Returns are accepted for 30 days from the date your order is delivered.

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs.

  • We do not charge any restocking fees.

  • Items marked as “Final Sale” are not eligible for return or exchange.

How to Start a Return

To begin a return, please contact our support team at support@thetaildepartment.com with:

  1. Your order number

  2. The item(s) you wish to return

  3. The reason for your return

We’ll provide you with detailed instructions on where and how to send your package.
Items sent back without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we’ll notify you by email.
If approved, your refund will be processed automatically to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.

Please note that your bank or credit card company may take additional time to post the refund.

Exchanges

If you’d like to exchange an item, we recommend returning the original item first and then placing a new order for the desired product.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us right away at support@thetaildepartment.com with photos of the issue so we can make it right as quickly as possible.
